Reflection of the day - Collapse

It is truly strange how the mind can act when desperation, the need for what they call transcending, or the simple desire to feel important in the ephemeral passage of life explodes.

In a world increasingly saturated with noise, vague desires, "empty interactions" and virtualized realities, communication between thinking beings becomes increasingly difficult.

And technology, which is supposed to bring us closer, has become an amplifier of said noise. The competition for our attention with the continuous sound and visual bombardment has made us complacent with the state of our lives.

We have been forced to be spectators of the world and not actors of our reality... not the one designed or written to maintain the social status quo or labor obedience. Drowsy, we go through life based on recognition, virtual status, relevance in bits.

It is not that these lines that I write are a diatribe against social media and technology. Nor am I talking about making a revolution to change our lives, depressions, joys and everything they encompass in the context of overexposure to digital media. I'm talking about being awake... really awake in pursuit of our particular desires and challenges that can be the same... And when I talk about desire I'm not talking about the material... I'm talking about topics that are so simple and at the same time so difficult to address. like being happy... or it is being calm so as not to generate unrealizable expectations... for the moment.

Dangerously, we have allowed technology and access to information without context, curation or reflection to permeate, contaminate, deafen and numb us.

Opinions have been equated with knowledge and facts. The scientist who has spent twenty, thirty or fifty years of his life researching a topic is so important that the influencer who, with a one-week course on YouTube, or any other medium, formulates his theories that he then monetizes with the pose of a guru.

As a generation that goes from analog to digital, we have been attacking reason. We have, in our comfort and neurological laziness... let the algorithms decide, that the machines (poorly implemented) take over the task, the mental construction. And in this new man-machine model, the machine can be hacked and, in the process, the way we build and see ourselves in the world.

But the machine is not the problem... The machine is the excuse...
